Fair price for 120 feet of vinyl fence in Barrhaven?

Published 2025–26 Ontario installer pricing puts vinyl fence at about $45 to $90 per linear foot, installed, with premium styles running higher. Multiply the length of your run by that per-foot range for a first check, before gates and other extras; where a quote lands depends on what it includes.

Several things move a vinyl quote up or down within that range. The style and the post method both matter, so ask for both to be written into the quote. Gates are priced separately from the fence run, so a quote that buries a gate in the per-foot price is harder to compare. If there is an old fence to pull out, removal and disposal adds roughly $5 to $15 per linear foot, and published installer pages say posts set in concrete cost more to pull. The condition of the ground along the run is something to ask the installer about directly.

A fair written quote for a vinyl job of that length should break out at least these items separately: the fence run with the style and height specified, each gate as its own line with its dimensions, removal and disposal of any existing fence if that applies, and the post method.

Under the City of Ottawa Fence By-law, as published on ottawa.ca, a vinyl fence must have its finished side facing the street and neighbouring properties. The by-law also requires that every fence, including vinyl, be protected by paint, preservatives or another weather-resistant material, so ask the installer what the warranty covers and get that in writing.

After the job is done, keep the signed contract, the itemized quote and photos of the finished fence.
